I am very grateful to have received an amazing gift from my friend Olivia Stapp last month when I was working with her at Opera San Jose. It is a cookbook she bought years ago in Italy which she has treasured and which I will certainly treasure as well.

So Jen‘s fancy job at Boston Photo Imaging is right next door to the Parish Cafe. The folks at Parish have gotten about a thousand “Best of” awards in the city, so last Friday we went to check out the hype.

As part of Jen’s quest to completely deplete the city of Brookline of reuben sandwiches we stopped at Michael’s Deli in Coolidge Corner to take a bite out of the city’s remaining supply.

Here’s a little something I created for dinner last night. It’s penne pasta with grilled chicken and steamed broccoli topped with an improvised garlic Mornay sauce. I call it ‘a la Huntington’ after the charming little street outside my kitchen.

After four weeks of eating all my meals while driving I finally get a day off and decide to feed my friends. It all worked out marvelously thanks to Todd and his amazing PianoQ.
