
Jen’s gallery was an amazing success this weekend so we decided to go out and celebrate. Jen hadn’t been to Bella Luna down the street and it seemed like the perfect time to visit the unique JP eatery at Hyde Square.

Festivus Gastrnomicus Korea Correspondent Ryan Long gives his first report from Korea. Ryan is there doing research on a fullbright grant and I asked him to share his new adventures with Korean food with us.

I am very grateful to have received an amazing gift from my friend Olivia Stapp last month when I was working with her at Opera San Jose. It is a cookbook she bought years ago in Italy which she has treasured and which I will certainly treasure as well.

So Jen‘s fancy job at Boston Photo Imaging is right next door to the Parish Cafe. The folks at Parish have gotten about a thousand “Best of” awards in the city, so last Friday we went to check out the hype.

As part of Jen’s quest to completely deplete the city of Brookline of reuben sandwiches we stopped at Michael’s Deli in Coolidge Corner to take a bite out of the city’s remaining supply.

Here’s a little something I created for dinner last night. It’s penne pasta with grilled chicken and steamed broccoli topped with an improvised garlic Mornay sauce. I call it ‘a la Huntington’ after the charming little street outside my kitchen.

After four weeks of eating all my meals while driving I finally get a day off and decide to feed my friends. It all worked out marvelously thanks to Todd and his amazing PianoQ.

Sorry mom, there is just no polite way to put it. Today’s lunch with Jason at the Google campus blew my fucking mind!

So I hadn’t eaten all day and I needed the power of Mexican food to lead a rehearsal of the understudies all by myself. I spotted Carlos Goldstein’s and instantly thought of Shalom Beijing in Boston. Could this be Glatt Kosher Mexican food?
